Promethean ActivEducators:
Margaret Allen
Margaret is one of Promethean’s best known faces. With a strong background in Primary Classteaching, Margaret was the key person behind products such as the award winning Promethean Activprimary software and she now works extensively with schools, teachers and the publishing industry to help young children and their teachers benefit from the amazing technology that is now available to them.
“I believe that the greatest gains in the Primary Space are made through high quality talk and discussion. I find the increasing lack of opportunity for deep, high quality dialogue in society disheartening but through technology like Promethean’s, we can find new and engaging ways to stimulate high quality discussion and debate in classrooms. Technology should not be used to reduce the benefits of social based learning but to facilitate it and provide a robust framework to support all forms of effective instruction and personalisation.”
Peter Lambert
Peter was Promethean’s first employee and like many in Promethean, joined straight from the classroom. He helped bring about the original Activstudio concept and develop many of the innovative teaching and learning features that people now take for granted when they think of Interactive Whiteboards. Peter still manages to spend much of his time on the road meeting teachers face to face, responding to their needs and “lighting the flame of learning” in other schools around the world.
Lisa Dubernard
Lisa has worked in the educational technology industry for over twenty years both in the United States and in France. A passionate believer in classroom transformation through technology, Lisa currently does consulting work for various educational technology organizations as well as directly with school districts. She was formerly the Director of Product Management for Promethean in the US and is an avid Activstudio developer.
Lisa frequently contributes to the Promethean forum as well as assists with the development of many of the great resource packs that you will find on Promethean Planet.
“I love interacting with teachers on Promethean Planet as well as face to face. Everyone has such great ideas to contribute. Helping with Promethean Planet allows me to gather these great ideas together so that they are more useful and easy to find for others. You’ll find I’m a great “thief” of ideas!”

Mark Robinson
Mark has been with Promethean for over 3 years and has worked in other education technology companies, in education publishing and as a classteacher before joining Promethean. The award winning websites and whiteboard tools he developed with his pupils are still very popular with many teachers. The resident ‘geek’ of the blog, he can often be found focussed on ‘next practices’ and the emerging technologies that may impact classrooms in coming years.
“My life as an educator literally changed the day I connected to the internet… Within moments I had realised that the life of the children I would teach would be radically different to mine when they become adults and I had to adapt and be ready to teach new things in new ways.
I also realised new classroom tools were needed - effective and affordable technology that would really work in a school setting and that could be the ‘Window on the Global Network’ and the ‘Digital Groupspace’ needed for social knowledge building and to celebrate the immense opportunities for student creativity that this new frontier offered. I have found those tools in Promethean. For me - It all starts here.”

Not got a blog but would like to contribute?
Promethean Planet is an open, sharing community because we believe that the best people to talk to teachers about educational technology are other teachers.
Perhaps you are going through the transformations of adapting instructional practices to Promethean tools, or you are seeking new ways to do new things through the digital window the Activboard provides? You may be a specialist in a subject area or technology and want to share your expertise.
If you have a story to share but do not want to manage and maintain a blog of your own you may want to consider being a guest contributor. Let us know.
